Motorcycle Riding Boots Riding boots for motorcycle riding have to be one of the three most important pieces of protection gear. Leather boots fall in line right after the helmet, and leather jacket. Leather boots can make or break a good ride because you want them to fit right and not be too tight, you need them high enough to cover your ankles in case of an accident. The boots should not be too heavy so when you get off the bike after a long ride you do not feel like you are lifting twenty pounds to walk. The leather boot has to be able to breathe so your feet do not get too hot and you should look for solid rubber soles for a couple of reasons, one for the endurance and two so your foot do not slip on wet pavement.
If you are able to get a pair that is waterproof even better because when it rains and your feet get wet it is not pleasant, especially if it is getting cold outside. The leather boots at a minimum should come up about half way on your calf. There are a few different styles where most are pull-on; you may see a pair that has strap closures making it easier to take them on and off. Of course, there are leather boots that have boot laces and tie.
This would be another item that you would want to check the sizing charts on since some companies recommend you size up. You would also want to check the return policy on your items and sometimes you are able to get leather boots on sale so it is worth looking around on the site. Leather boots are like buying a pair of shoes, not all fit the same way so you would want to make sure you know your size and width to help you make the right selection. Riders will normally have more than one pair of boots too, this way they can swap them out depending on where they are planning to ride that day. Remember to invest in covering your feet; they more than just sit on the pedal bar after you have pulled away from your driveway.
