Motorcycle Leather Chaps
Motorcycle leather chaps are a pair of pants that can come one or two ways. The first way is they will belt around the waist and legs and cover the front side of your legs or the second type is the a pair that belts around your waist and you would step inside, the buttocks, hips and front area exposed to allow sitting on your bike so you are not wearing two pairs of pants.
The first reason you may consider buying chaps, is they would help keep you warmer on a cold day as they add a layer of clothing to your legs. A second reason could be that if you were going on a motorcycle ride the leg chaps would protect your legs from bugs and road debris. Another reason would be to provide extra protection for your legs in case of an accident. You would have the extra leather against your skin, so it could be considered a safety feature for you. The forth reason I can think of would be to complete an outfit. You would have the leather chaps, leather vest, and leather jacket. Lastly, they help keep your pants clean when you get off your bike from a long ride.
Chaps make great gifts if you are looking for something special to purchase for your bike rider. Chaps are not normally the first thing a motorcycle rider buys when they first purchase their bike. Leather chaps are something that is purchased after the rider has made a few trips on their bike and have had to keep wiping their pants off when they take breaks.
Leather chaps normally come in a few colors, a couple of pockets and snaps with a hidden zipper. If you bought a pair that only covered the front of your legs you could find a pair with fringe, something similar to what a cowboy wears in a rodeo to give you a mental picture of what chaps could look like if you did not have a picture in front of you.
