The Brass monkey is a motorcycle rally held in central Otago at the start of winter.For us this year it was more about the time on the back roads than being at the rally.We went via the Makenzie Pass, Hakataramera Pass, Kurow, Danseys Pass, and back via Danseys, the Black forest, Fairlie and messed about on the roads above on the way to Geraldiene.For more info on the rally visit http://www.brassmonkeyrally.org.nz/

The guys from the Stronghold and VVMC had another Vintage Motorcycle Rally, July 12, 2009. The show was excellent and the turn out was much bigger than the first one held a few months before.

I recently bought a cheap (very inexpensive, $99.99) video camera from Walmart and thought I’d give it a whirl at the Rally. Well, the camera sucked! The quality is crap and since there is no stabilization the footage was very jerky. I did some very amateur editing anyway. I hope the footage doesn’t make you dizzy. It reminds me of the Blair Witch Project. Feel free to leave comments.

# Selby North Yorkshire, Classic/Vintage Motorcycle Rally 09.# Selby in North Yorkshire sets aside one day in June to play host to a classic/vintage motorcycle rally,the event grows year on year and this year was no exception, with over 150 bikes on show, there was something for everyone. Vintage machines some dating back to the 1920s:Norton, Manx Norton,Triumph,BSA,BMW,Royal Enfield,Ducati,Kawasaki, Sunbeam,Moto Guzzis,Honda, Harleys,Suzuki,Yamaha the list goes on. But as any outside event,it all comes down to the weather,it was fine sunny,in fact a perfect bikers day. The event is held in conjunction with the Selby Town Council Fun Day
