Where can I find a certain Harley Davidson shop?

Posted by admin On February - 24 - 2010

If this isn’t the dealer you want, see below.

http://www.harley-davidson.com/DE/LOC/en/DealerLocator.asp?LL=en-US&AD4=USA&locale=en_US&bmLocale=en_US

Use the link to HD’s dealer locator. You will need to know what state it is in.

"The 28 Buell and Harley-Davidson motorcycles will first be shipped to the Motor Company’s Dominican Republic dealership organization MagnaMotors before being delivered to the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti.
The motorcycles will be used by for disaster relief and stabilization efforts in the Caribbean nation. Haiti suffered an earthquake Jan. 12, and several countries and organizations have offered humanitarian aid. The donated motorcycles will later remain as a permanent donation to the government of Haiti."

Unless they’re sold at auction and the proceeds donated, would this really help?

Haiti is an underdeveloped country with bad roads, many of which are blocked by earthquake debris. The Harleys will be completely out of their element there outside of the cities, and even there, it looks more like dual-sport country. Looks like a bonanza for corrupt public officials and the Motor Company.

what size engine is on a harley davidson golf cart?

I know the cc but what horse power would it be,it is on a harley davidson golf cart.

All the ones I worked on were electric.

I’m going to Wales with my family for vacation in September. I’ll be with them for about 10 days or so but I want to go early and ride around, exploring the UK by my self. I need to get bike for this and would like it to be a dual-sport (a DR-Z400S would be perfect). I’ll be 21 when I’m there so that might be an issue with renting. I have my motorcycle endorsement in the US and know I’ll probably need to get an international licence. If any of you could point me in the right direction to get my hands on a bike I would greatly appreciate it( I"m researching myself and I’m just trying to get an idea of all my options) Thanks in advance ;D

Just to make it clear I’ll be with my family in Wales for 10 or so days, but I plan on being in the UK for about a month… so I’ll have a little less than three weeks to explore by myself.

Being able to hire a bike of that type, never mind that particular model, in the UK is unlikely though maybe not impossible. Short of searching with google there is not much else you can do about that. There are lots of other road bikes available though and the oppertunities to use an off roader are few and far between here – a road bike would be best.
Your age should not be a problem.
Helmets are the law here so you will have to factor in bringing one with you or buying one here – obviously you will also need the rest of the gear and a full set of waterproofs is necessary on any long UK trip.
The international permit might be a good idea but as it is just a translation maybe not required as we are quite good at reading American here!
Forget buying a bike here and the shipping back nonesense. By the time you get it sorted with necessary taxes etc it will be time for you to go home!

Motorcycle Leathers………….?

Does anyone know where my hubby can get some leathers from please? He is slightly bigger than the ‘normal biker’ and we can’t find any leathers to fit him across the chest, leg or waist. If anyone has any info on made to measure leathers or a shop which can cater for slightly bigger bikers i would really appreciate the info. (He is not fat just broad and short legged and has a slight beer belly) Please, no rude comments. We are in Essex. Thank you. xx

There are plenty of places you can go and get made-to-measure leathers. The nearest to you would probably be Cissbury Leathers. They have a shop in Findon Village in Sussex see this web site – http://www.cissburyleathers.co.uk/index.asp?currency=GBP
Others are
BKS – well repected and highest quality

BTK – http://www.btkleathers.com/
Hideout – http://www.hideout-leather.co.uk/folders/custom_designs/made_to_measure_stuff/

How long is a motorcycle permit good for before it expires. I thought it was a year but then I heard 6 months. Can’t seem to find anything on the DMV site and I can’t find the permit to look at it.

"Your driver license application is valid for 12 months from the application date."

Hey all you Harley riders! I’m back! Did you miss me?!?!?

I’m sure many of you have wondered where I’ve been over the last 5 months or so. I recently returned from a long motorcycle vacation in Europe (after an awesome trip to Sturgis of course!). In early August it appeared that the bond trading firm I work at was going to go under but we were lucky enough to get some stimulus funds/bailout money to help keep us afloat. As the company restructured with the new $, I was able to take the remainder of the year off and collect my bonus early. I must say, if you ever get a chance to tour Europe on a motorcycle, do it! I went through Spain, Italy, the Alps, Munich and many other parts of Europe. Even got to race on the Moto GP track in Munich! It was first class all the way! Anyway… I hope everyone is happy to have me back in the Yahoo Answers community! I just didn’t have time in Europe to log in and visit. Since getting back I’ve already put the battery charger on my Road King! Looking forward to riding again!

No not at all – you`re like stepping in dog $hit.Poser RUBS like you are what is wrong with bikes. I actually think you , Bart & all the other pretender idiots came from the same donor @ the sperm bank.

can you make a good living as a Harley Davidson Salesman?

Posted by admin On February - 9 - 2010

What is the average income for a Harley Davidson salesman? I am assuming that they work on commission. Are people buying motorcycles in this economy?

How much you make and how the commission structure works would depend on the dealer. The dealerships are individually owned, they aren’t owned by Harley Davidson themselves.

Typically the winter is REALLY bad for selling motorcycles.

In my opinion, the market fell off for HD about 4 years ago. The market is saturated with low mileage used bikes, why would anyone buy a new one? The dealerships around my area used to get $3K-$5K over MSRP on the new bikes. Now they asking MSRP and I’ve known people who got bikes at under MSRP – that tells me they are starving. The dealers themselves are also offering incentives for customer loyalty, which is unheard from an HD dealer.

Again, I think this depends on the dealership, but I’ve noticed that the dealer I frequent has a lot of turnover with sales reps.

How much do you think my motorcycle leathers are worth?

Posted by admin On February - 9 - 2010

Okay, I have some brown motorcycle leathers. There a complete suit, trousers and top connected together. They also have a matching pair of boots the same colour. The leathers are probably on the best side of medium going to large and are official Honda leathers. They have the honda logo embroidered on them and the boots.

I think they’re from around 1960 -1970 in date and I would like to sell them in order to buy myself some leathers for my new motorcycle. Thanks for any answers!

At that age my freind …….. less then nothing to be honest.

With out been funny, try contacting Honda UK. They might want them for a age related display.

& not directly in the middle?

The first motorcycle jacket was styled after a double breasted jacket, and those also have the ’side’ seam http://www.dancepants.com/images/Am_Smooth_Jacket_double_breasted.jpg
It’s a trend that was started by Perfecto as early as the late 1920’s. It’s fairly iconic.
That said, many motorcycle jackets do zip right up the middle.
It’s just a fashion thing.
